1965 Calories for me and 2005 for my husband

Every week I plan out the next weeks menu. Somehow I still end up behind on posting these posts. I am sorry. I end behind simply because I want to use the links I utilize and I want to post after the day I cook incase I changed my plans. Anyhow, I am posting our meal plans in order. I feel it is important to do so incase you, like myself use leftover meals from the previous days.

Snack: (80 Calories) string cheese

Lunch: (390 Calories) Taylor Farms Bistro Box Picnic lunch. We had the one with seasome seed crackers, hard boiled egg, grapes, apples, and cheese

Snack: (54 Calories) Coffee with cream

Dinner (1233 Calories for me and 1273 for my husband) ½ ribeye steak, seared in 1/2 TBSP garlic butter, pepper, and salt. ½ cup steamed broccoli. 1 whole carrots seared 1 pat butter. Yes, you do see that I am only eating ½ a steak. We also each had one glass Black Box Merlot. We buy our beef straight from the farm and our rancher/butcher cuts us HUGE restaurant  quality steaks, therefore my husband and I split one unless it is a very special occasion. Just one steak would average 1980 calories. We cannot eat like that everyday and we have too much beef and steak not to eat steak regularly. Meaning we just have to split it if we want to stay healthy. I also cut out 40 calories by not having steak sauce (which I dislike anyways, but my husband always has steak sauce).

No Snack: We are too full

Total Calories=1965 for me and 2005 for my husband

1849 Calorie Day

Breakfast: (560 Calories) ½ cup steal cut oats, 1 cup 2% organic milk, ½ TBSP cinnamon, ½ apple diced, 1 pat butter, and ¼ cup packed brown sugar (I know this isn’t the healthiest of breakfasts, but it is a guilty pleasure of mine).

Snack: (30 Calories) 14 Baby Carrots

Lunch: (624 Calories) Left over Thai soup. It only gets better with time.

Snack: (114 Calories) 1 cup Snap Peas and a string cheese

Dinner: (430 Calories) Chicken and Barley Casserole –melt 3 TBSP butter  and sautee 1 large diced onion, 2 stalks diced celery, 8 oz chopped mushrooms, 1 raw diced sweet pepper. Then add 1 Cup Barley Pearls and stir until Barley has a thin coat of butter on them. Add 2 cups organic low sodium chicken broth and cook on medium low until barley is the tenderness you prefer. Stir in 2 cups  of organic rotisserie chicken meat. Last add in 1 cup grated parmesan cheese (make 4 servings.) You can leave out the Parmesan and cut out 108 calories per serving and it still tastes pretty decent.

Snack: (82 Calories) Sleepy time tea with ½ TBSP honey and 1 TBSP cream.

Dinner: (550 Calories) Tuscan Garlic Chicken

I am okay with being under 1800 calories as long as I feel full and satisfied all day long. Todays meal plan did that for me.
